Client Project - Surveymonkey

For my client project i sent out a survey to collect responses for the complete Palmhive website. The survey consisted of the following questions;

1.What Browser did you view this website on?

Firefox/IE/Chrome/Safari etc

2.How did you find Palmhive website?

Please rate below (Very good/Good/Average/Poor/Very poor)

-Design/Look
-Navigation
-Finding content
-Readability of text
-Loading time of each page
-Clarity of labelling
- Availability of information

3. On a scale of 1-5 how would rate the overall website?
4. Can you think of anything else that could be included on the website?
5. Are there improvements that you could suggest to make the website more appealing?

Survey link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/3WWYWBR

From the survey i got a fair number of respondents (20) which only a handful commented upon question 5. Some of the criticism are shown below:

'No, its very good. gives the client what they need'

'Your about us page is very informative but when i go to a page homepage i dint want to be greeted with a novel, why not shorten this to one paragraph like a summary of what you do etc.. and add some products/examples, news or something like that.'

'I think the logo is too big yeah you want it to be memorable but i would reduce the size.'

Overall, the respondents rated my website 'very good' (4/5) on the survey scale. This is useful information to consider upon finishing the website.

Client Project - Feeback 4

My next task was to populate the sites content and to arrange what fabrics were going on each page of the website. I arranged a meeting where we discussed what was going on each page. I left her the task of writing up the body text and what images to use on each page/sub-category.

Here is the email she sent me...

Client Project - Feeback 3 continued

After showing my client several differential designs of the chosen constructed website, she came to a decision and picked number 5 (shown below). She was very responsive and complimented me upon keeping to the comments she was providing and liked how i also provided her with alternative ideas. Now that i have a chosen design i can now go onto building the website in Dreamweaver.

Here is an email she sent me following our meeting so i can provide proof of communiction between me and the client.

Hi Nick

I have looked at all the pictures you have sent Thanks for taking on board the comments about a more defined fabric background. It was good that you used some alternative fabrics also.

In hind sight the SG8438 ribbed spacer does not seem to have worked as well as I thought.

I particularly liked the effect of the large hole mesh fabric background with the curved effect and the hexagonal viewing panes at the top. Therefore I think you should go ahead with No5, it gives the page an interesting view and makes you want to see what else there is on the site.

Thanks Nick, look forward to seeing the next phase.

Kind regards

Client Project - Feeback 2

Today i received feedback via email regarding the Layout plans for Palmhive website. Here's a screenshot of the email and written what she said.

Message...

Hi Nick

Have looked at all the pictures, all look good, but prefer 110 and 113. Maybe something of a mix of the two would be good.

The only comment I have is that I am not sure about the fabric in the background, it is a bit too dark, something more defined would probably look better, maybe the G1764 or even the SG8438, I think we have a navy version of this. See what you think.

Thanks

Anne-Marie

Client Project - Feeback 1

I am in the process of taking photos of Palmhive's fabric myself and after making my own light tent box and showing my client what they looked like. They said that the photo quality was ok and they have asked if i can retake some of the photos and make them all the same distance away from the camera. They want to be able to just make out the fabric, but do not want competitors seeing details of there fabric and materials.

Here is the Email.

Text Version:

Hi Nick,

The photos are definitely moving in the right direction and they will give our customers an excellent preview of the range. I only have a couple of comments that you may want to consider which will hopefully polish the edges a little.

1) All photographs should be taken at the same distance preferably using a tripod to ensure the distance is the same for each shot. The reason for this is that most samples are viewed at reading distance, therefore a photo that is too close up may not look like the fabric they want and they could dismiss it.

2) A fabric can also look different if the warp and weft are not laid the correct way, to find out which way the fabric should be laid, look for the V in the knitting pattern (this should always be pointing downwards) also make sure the front of the fabric is showing rather than the back; if in doubt get a quality or technical person to help you with that. It is important because we are a Technical Textile company and we need to show that we understand the basics of how a fabric should be presented.

3) Make sure that the colour in the photographs is the actual colour of the fabric – it would be better to have black / white and state on the website that other colours are available rather than having a misleading colour on the website.

Thank you for your time and good work so far, we look forward to working with you on this project further.

Kind Regards
