Role:
Junior Website Developer / Website Maintenance career opportunity: Come and work for one of the largest, fast-moving and dynamic web design and development agencies in the Southwest, with offices in both Salisbury and Covent Garden (London). As a Web Developer, you will join a busy team of highly experienced and capable developers in our Salisbury office; working directly with our Project Managers, design team and clients to plan and develop internet-based sites and solutions.

You will need to have a background in developing websites and applications with 1+ year’s commercial experience preferably having worked within a New Media agency environment or be of good graduate calibre. Experience of XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and usability/accessibility standards are a must, as is the ability to program using PHP.

Key objectives & responsibilities include:

• Take on the monthly maintenance of existing client websites. Making changes and adapting sites where necessary. Working directly with the client to understand and carry out the brief in a highly effective manner.
• Work with Project Managers, other developers and designers to create high quality web-based solutions.
• Help plan, design and implement solutions that meet the client's brief, on time and within budget. Develop solutions in a highly effective and efficient manner, making optimum use of the resources provided to you.
• Create code that is error-free and based on industry standards.

Requirements:
You will be passionate about the web, with a confident, credible and professional approach to work. It is expected that you will have:

• Demonstrable experience of programming in the following languages; XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and/or ASP (other languages are a distinct advantage, as is DOM manipulation, XML, , HTTP and Object Oriented methods).
• An understanding of how to build effective websites, employing good information architecture, navigation systems and usability.
• In depth understanding of web/New Media technologies and development trends.
• A good deal of foresight and a keenness to learn new technologies and push the boundaries of your own capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
